Abstract:
TVET in Buno Bedele zone. To achieve the intended objective of the study descriptive survey research method was used with quantitative and qualitative approaches. Quantitative approach was used for the quantitative data that were collected through questionnaire and qualitative approach was used for the qualitative data that were collected through interview.305 female trainees were taken as sample respondents through simple random sampling technique. Data were collected from 305 sample respondents of female and 4 deans. Data were analyzed using percentage, mean and standard deviation. Inferential statics, Pearson correlation was used to analyze the relation between the independent variable. The findings of the study indicated the economic challenges like, low income, low economic status of the family, source of income and economic activities in which their family engaged were challenges for female participation, cultural related factors like, cultural norms of the family ,society’s customs, beliefs and attitudes towards girls' education, cultural and social practices of the family and cultural status of the community were challenges to female participation, the environmental relate factors like, school working environment, fast changing of the economic environment of the local community, cultural environment of the school, social environment of the local community and technological environment of TV school were challenges to female participation, family related factors like, inequalities imposed on female by their home, Peer influence, absence of parental support, guidance and encouragement were challenges to female participation. Finally, at the last part of recommendations were given based on the above findings of the study.
