dc.description.abstract The right to vote is one of the most fundamental human rights guaranteed in several International, Regional human rights instruments as well as National constitutions including FDRE Constitution. However, the Prisoners‟ Right to vote is nowhere explicitly recognized in these International and Constitutional standards. In Ethiopia, the new electoral Proclamation No.1162/2019 was enacted with the intent to enfranchise various groups including prisoners provided that their right has not suspended by court sentence en_US
