Abstract:
Delirium is significant public health problem with pooled estimates showing prevalence rates
between 10–30% and 80% on general ward and critical care units respectively. Prevalence rates of 9–35%
were reported in sub-Saharan Africa where infectious diseases were among the most common cause of
delirium. Rates as high as 42.2% and 17% has been reported from ICUs and general wards of Ethiopia
respectively
