dc.description.abstract In this thesis, a finite difference method resulting from cubic spline is presented for solving the one-dimensional Burgers’ equation. First, the nonlinear Burgers’ equation is transformed to one-dimensional heat equation via Cole-Hopf transformation. The stability of the method is well established and it is found to be unconditionally stable. The numerical solutions presented in tables confirm that the present method approximates the exact solution very well. en_US
