dc.description.abstract Contribution of saving and the livelihood of urban poor were selected for the study. The main objective of the study is to investigate the saving and credit culture of the people and how it is improved .The researcher used primary source of data and number of people in seyyo town were taken 150 people as sample through simple random sampling and judgment sampling techniques. To analysis qualitative and quantitative data collected the researcher was employed descriptive method of analysis. Finally the researcher was able to find out that low income of the people, low interstates ,lack of motivations, collateral, group forming ,shortage of payment period ,lack of credit and high interest rates for credit as major factors for the ineffective performance of credit and saving seyyo town and suggested feasible recommendation to save them. These are; to improve income level of the people, to motivate people to use saving and credit facilities, to reduce problem of collateral and, to reduce problem of group forming and shortage of payment period en_US
