dc.description.abstract The main purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of procurement practices on procurement performance at Jimma University. Study was employed both primary and secondary sources of data. With employing a purposive and stratified sampling technique, data was collected by administering questionnaire and exploring documents. The collected information is analyzed using quantitative and qualitative method of data analysis. The study took a sample of 130. Data was collected using structured questionnaires and interview. The data collected was analyzed using Statistical tools such as descriptive statistics, Pearson’s correlation coefficient, means, standard deviation and multiple regression models. The findings show that the variability in the procurement performance was explained by supplier management, information communication technology, procurement procedure and resource allocation, which are statistically and significantly influence procurement performance of the organizations. The study concludes that procurement practices though varying across organizations in terms of level of implementation are necessary for the overall optimal leadership of organization procurement performance. A shift towards the sourcing, e-procurement bid and vendor management software saves the organization time so that it can focus on organization initiatives and supplier relationships. The study recommends that organizations corporate management must continuously identify the key planned drivers and procurement practices they can incorporate as they seek to increase procurement performance. en_US
