The aim of the study was to assess the determinants of the performance of good governance in
urban land administration of Mudula town municipality. Still a challenge associated with good
governance is unsolved due to several determinants such as corruption, conflict, bureaucracy
and institutional capacity. For this reason, the study would be important to the urban land
administration to recognize about the determinants of good governance and help to correct their
mistakes. Research design was employed using mixed research approach. Both primary and
secondary sources of data were applied. Percentage, frequency, Pearson correlation and
multiple liner regression were employed to analyze the data through statistical package of SPSS
version 20. The study was conducted by using 187household heads that would select systematic
random sampling, 28 Municipal employees from these 7 key informants selected purposefully.
Further more, questionnaire. The finding of the study revealed that a significantly strong positive
correlation is found between institutional capacity and good governance. In other way negative
relationships is found to exist between conflict, bureaucracy, corruption and good governance.
Based on the finding the following conclusion is drawn. Institutional capacity has positive and
significant influence on good governance. Corruption, conflict and bureaucracy has negative and
significant influence on good governance. It is recommended that: Establishing strong
professional bodies, that are responsible for the development and enhancement of professional
competence, and to develop the optimal conditions and services, institutions need involvement to
handling the conflict between public servants and services users, make a reform if it has
happened necessary, formulate a mechanism to fight corruption |
