dc.description.abstract The main objective of the study was to assess those factors that affect project implementation in local NGO’s within local capacity development program in the case of Ethiopia. This study has tried to identify those internal and external factors that affect project implementation taking the case of 98 local NGOs within the local capacity development program in the case of Ethiopia as a sample representative. To this end, a descriptive research design was used where out of the total 543 employees 232 employees were involved in order to provide a primary data using a self-administered questionnaire with 178 responses. Once the questionnaire items are tested for their reliability i.e. internal consistency, data analysis was conducted using both descriptive statistics (such as frequency and percentage) and inferential statistics (such as correlation and regression using OLS method). The appropriate software package that is used for data analysis was SPSS Version 21. Accordingly, the research finding has shown that project implementation at local NGOs of Ethiopia is influenced by factors such as training, communication, fund requirement, donor requirement, and government requirements. But, out of all these factors, the three top determinant factors are training, fund requirement and donor requirement. Also, the researcher has recommended among many other things, Stakeholder involvement in project implementation, monitoring and evaluation, teamwork commitment, leadership, joint planning, learning and accountability that the local NGOs need to work intensively. Also, it is advised that wholistic and diversified investment projects need to be implemented by the NGOs and donors other than confining only to very few sectors only. en_US
