| dc.description.abstract | Background: As there is no cure for diabetes, the overall goal is regulation of their disease rather than cure and the management of diabetes mellitus largely depends on patients’ ability to self-care in their daily lives, and therefore, patient education is always considered an essential element of DM management. When diabetes is successfully regulated, the patient is able to avoid or delay complication while continuing to live a normal productive life. Objective: To assess the awareness on the symptoms, complications and care to be taken about diabetes mellitus among diabetic patients in JUSH diabetic follow up clinic. Method: A cross sectional study is conducted in JUSH diabetic follow up clinic. The study population will be all diabetic patients who come to JUSH diabetic follow up clinic during data collection time. Convenience sampling technique will be used. Data will be collected by using structured questionnaires. Data will be coded and analyzed by SPSS software. Work plan and budget: The research will be conducted from April- September 2014. The total budget required is 1067 birr. | en_US |
