dc.description.abstract Resilience is the ability to prepare and plan for, absorb, recover from, or more successfully adapt to actual or potential adverse events. Disaster resilience performance is the capability of systems to be prevented and recovered from disaster related events and the main focuss rely on reducing disaster risks. The main objective of this research was to examine the perception of emplyee on the role of disaster risk management quality on disaster resilience performance. To achieve the purpose, quantitative research approach was used in which 331 self administered questionnaires were distributed to collect data. The disaster resilience performance was measured through the developed disaster risk management quality dimension questionnares. Descriptive and inferential statistical data analysis techniques were used in this research. The test score in governance and risk assessment had somewhat moderate correlation but the rest variables were found to be somewhat strongly correlated with disaster resilience performance. Furthermore, the adjusted R-square value was 0.481 (48.1% variations) which means 48.1% of disaster risk management dimensions explained the disaster resilience performance whereas 51.9% was due to other factors which are not included in this research. The finding show that comparatively the 1 st , 2 nd , 3 rd , 4 th & 5 th frequently used intervention for disaster resilience performance in the selected study area was risk assessment, risk management & vulnerability reduction, knowledge & education, disaster preparedness & response, and governance respectively. However, as indicated from standardized coefficient value, disaster preparedness and response, knowledge and education, governance, risk management and vulnerability reduction and risk assessment has the influential predicors on disaster resilience performance respectively. For those city sector managers and stakeholders, to enhance disaster resilience performance, it is recommended to work by prioritized disaster preparedness and response and so on through working inclusively with many other sectors. In this regard minimizing problems associated with weak governance is crucial and recommended so as to improve the city’s disaster resilieance performance en_US
