dc.description.abstract Background: malnutrition affects millions of people in developing countries’ and contributes to poor health and nutritional status of mothers and lactation increase high nutritional demands & makes a significant life transition that can impact diet and subsequently a woman at great risk for overweight &undernutrition .there are studies on nutritional status of lactating mother& The WHO considers malnutrition to be a major public health threat. Malnutrition is a global public health issue with serious consequences, particularly for pregnant and breastfeeding women. Increased morbidity and death are associated with undernutrition during lactation. Objective: The aim of this study is to assess lactating mothers' nutritional status and associated factors in Hadero town, Kamebata Tembaro zone, south Ethiopia2022. Method: A community-based cross-sectional study carried out to assess nutrition status and factors associated with it among 420 lactating mothers in Hadero town May 5/5/2022- June 10/6/2022.satandard semi structured questioners were to data collection time . the collected data were entered in to Epi data version 3.1and export to SPSS variation 22 for further processing &analysis. bivariate multinomial logistic regression analysis was select candidate variables at P-value < 0.25. multivariate multinomial logistic regression analyses was used to identify variables that were significantly associated with nutrition status of mother at P<0.05 with a 95%CI. Result: a total of respondents were participated with rate of 99.3%. The mean age of participants 27 ±5.7 years with range of 16-45. Majority of participants 128(30.5%) were orthodox, where from Wolaita, 120(28.6%) where kamebata by their ethnicity. From the total of lactating mothers in the study, 334(79.5%) are married, majority of participants 143(34%) where competed primary education followed and. half of study participants where have family size of 4-5, followed. Conclusion: The study provided an opportunity to see low prevalence underweight and high prevalence of overweight than others .occupation status of both mother and their husband, ANC birth interval was significantly associated with undernutrition and age of a the mother. en_US
