dc.description.abstract Mobile ad hoc Network (MANET) is a collection of network devices which are connected through the wireless links. It is used to exchange information between network devices. Due to mobility in MANET it becomes weak in security. From many protocols of MANET, AODV is the most vulnerable for attackers. Especially, AODV routing protocol is easily have a chance prone to attacks. Flooding attack floods the network by route request or data packets. These attacks can make network failures as well as restrict the node to perform their services. Here in this thesis we discuss different kinds of attacks in MANET. Flooding attack is one of the famous attacks in MANET. We discuss Flooding attack in detail and also analyze the effects of number of nodes variation in Packet delivery ratio, Average end to end delay, Average residual energy and Throughput of MANET, under Flooding attack. To do this, we proposed new technique based on cluster and identify cluster head based on their nodes energy in the network. The performance outcomes demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed routing protocol as compared to other methods available. According to the given performance summary the proposed routing protocol is much adoptable. en_US
