Abstract:
The purpose of the study was to assess the effect of procurement management on project
procurement performance, specifically; The study also examines the factors or variables
Procurement planning; Staff competency, Utilization of information communications
technology, Procurement procedures, that affect the performance of procurement. Descriptive
and explanatory research design were used in executing the study as well as quantitative
research approach. The study employed stratified with simple random sampling technique to
select the respondents. The sample size of the study is 114 respondents. Primary data was
collected using self-administered questionnaire was designed to collect relevant information
from respondents. Data was analysed using of both descriptive statistics such as frequency
tables percentage, mean and standard deviation and charts and inferential statistics such as
correlation and regression using Statistical Package of Social Science (SPSS) version 26.
Findings indicate that all Procurement Planning, Staff Competency, Procurement Procedure,
are the major factors that significantly affect procurement and they have a significant positive
effect on procurement performance. The Conclusions this study indicate procurement factors
have statistically significant effect on procurement performance of Ethio telecom. 80.1% of the
variation in the procurement performance of organization can be explained by the procurement
factors (independent variables) included in the model. However, the remaining 19.9% changes
in procurement performance in the organization is caused by other factors that are not included
in the model.
