Abstract:
Dispute the development banks of Ethiopia, established under a government-approved special Act,
provide financial assistance to both public and private sector institutions. They aim to serve the
public interest and provide financial assistance to various sectors. This study investigates the role
impact of information communication technology on project monitoring and evaluation in devel
opment bank of Ethiopia Jimma district.
The study focuses on the three main components of ICT: hardware, software, and networks, which
have the greatest overall impact on the project. Technological innovations, such as remote sensing,
real-time data collection, micro-narratives, intelligent infrastructure, data visualization, data ex
haustion, crowdsourcing, and beneficial feedback mechanisms, play a crucial role in project moni
toring and evaluation.
Explanatory partly causal research design was applied in this study. Since the basic aims Explana
tory research method that explores why something occurs when limited information is available. It
can help you increase your understanding of a given topic, ascertain how or why a particular phe
nomenon is occurring, and predict.
Researcher was used the linear regression to assess the impact of information communication
technology hardware, software and Network on project monitoring and Evaluation. The results in
dicated that some of these hardware, software and Network, positively impact on development
bank’s project monitoring Evaluation.
The study finds that ICT is insignificant in explaining the objectives of the Development Bank of
Ethiopia's companies, but 75.2% can explain the model. The P value is 22.6, indicating full support
from ICT, rejecting the null hypothesis.
The study analyzed the impact of information and communication technology (ICT) on project
monitoring and evaluation in Ethiopia's development bank. It found a strong positive correlation
between ICT adoption and project performance. The study also found that ICT significantly affects
accuracy in hardware, software, and network processes. Despite its benefits, challenges such as
initial installation costs, infrastructure irregularities, inadequate service facilities, and unqualified
personnel hinder the full realization of ICT's benefits. The findings highlight the significant role of
ICT in project monitoring and evaluation in Ethiopia's development bank.
