The main purpose of the study was to investigate the correlation between work performance and
job satisfaction among employees in Yem Zone Youth and Sport offices in Central Ethiopia
region. Based on conditions of the study the researcher was employed quantitative and
qualitative research approach and cross-sectional research design was adopted. Samples taken
38 employees and 13 management bodies and leaders total 51 participants were taken from each
district (woreda,) city administration and zone office and those all taken purposefully as sample
technique and sample size. The research methodology was employed a descriptive survey,
questionnaires and interviews were the major data collection instruments, used. Data analysis of
survey questionnaires gathered from respondents was carried out through the statistical package
for SPSS version 27 software was applied. Correlation coefficient, frequency and percentage,
and graphs were used to analyze and interpret the collected data. According to the findings the
correlation between employees; work performance and job satisfaction indicated weak positive
correlation. Training and professional development opportunities, selection and hiring process,
leadership styles, time management and organizational cultures partially influenced and tools
and resources, salary, work-life balance, career growth opportunities, recognition and reward,
and overall work environment were in a great extend affecting the relationship between
employees’ work performance and job satisfaction. |
