Football Sport Facility Management of Jimma City Stadium

Abstract

This study assesses the football sport facility management at Jimma City Stadium in Ethiopia. The research questions focus on the general perceptions of spectators, challenges faced in facility management, the impact of stakeholder involvement, and strategies for improvement. The study was conducted using a mixed research approach with a cross-sectional research design, utilizing questionnaires, interviews, and observations as primary data sources. The sample included various stakeholders such as sports officials, coaches, players, staff, and spectators. Key findings indicate significant issues in sports facility management, including poor effectiveness, inadequate maintenance, unmet community needs, unsuitable playing surfaces, financial constraints, and insufficient infrastructure. Recommendations for improvement include increasing funding, enhancing stakeholder coordination, providing training opportunities, fostering community engagement, implementing cost-effective measures, enhancing safety and security, and improving planning and design processes. This study provides valuable insights for enhancing the management of Jimma City Stadium and improving the overall sports facility experience.
