Abstract:
Sport facilities and equipments are fundamental to sport development and achievements
globally. The Objectives of this study was to assess the management practices of sport
facilities and equipment in some of Assosa zone sport offices. The study used both
qualitative and quantitative research methods and descriptive survey design. In this study,
the researcher employed both qualitative and quantitative paradigms, making it a mixed
methods approach, which was a subscription to pragmatism For the purpose of this
studytotapopulation169 the sample size of 108 respondents, 6 dimnistration office
57sportexprtes 45 sport coachs total 108 the study was employed both primary and
secondary sources of data that are necessary inputs for analysis. To achieve the study the
primary data were obtained from employments of the offices. The sampling techniques
used were purposive and simple random sampling techniques. The data collection tools
were semi structured interview and closed ended questionnaires. The instrument of data
collection for the study was included: Questionnaire, Oral interviews the data that was
collected through interview, open-ended and close-ended questionnaire will be analyzed
mixed research However, sport facilities and equipment in these offices today are poorly
managed. Some offices do not have it at all. Sport Equipment expert and sport
administrators do not give proper management and to these facilities and equipment at
all. This has greatly hampered and reduced sport practices in the society. The study found
that the management practice of sport facilities and equipment„s are very weak especially
in the area of planning, policing, and maintaining and carrying. Lastly based on the major
findings conclusion are made appropriate recommendation were forwarded,
