Abstract:
Postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV) is defined as the occurrence of
nausea and vomiting after a surgical procedure. It is a common complication following surgery
and can cause discomfort and distress to patients. The severity ranges from mild discomfort to
more severe and persistent episodes. PONV is a multifactorial phenomenon influenced by
patient-related, surgical, and anaesthesia-related factors. Identifying specific risk factors and
developing predictive models can aid in risk stratification and individualized management
