dc.description.abstract A Dispute Review Expert (DRE) is an experienced industry professional jointly selected by the owner and contractor of a project and in most cases established at the beginning of a construction project. This research work tried to assess the effectiveness of Dispute Review Expert in Ethiopian Federal Road projects. The findings of these data showed that almost all industry members had a positive attitude concerning the effectiveness of Dispute Review Expert from their experience in their projects. The results of this study showed that about 97.62% of disputes were resolved by DRE recommendations. Qualitative data also indicated DRE recommendations play significant role in resolving disputes and cost minimization. Generally, DRE has a great role in resolving disputes at different level and there is a need of commitment from both parties to cooperate with DRE to improve the quality of services and minimizing all forms of costs. en_US
