dc.description.abstract The study title socio economic impact of tourism was conducted at Oromia regional state Bale zone at specific area bale national park. The purpose of the study was to assess the socio economic impact of the tourism. The study populations were selected using non-probability sampling technique, which is purposive or judgmental sampling. Researcher prefers to use judgmental sampling system to get actual information about socio economic impact of tourism; 52 respondents were selected purposively. Data was collected from respondents using questionnaire and analyzed quantitatively by using descriptive statistics such as percentage and table. After all data was collected and analysis was done, the finding was come up with the result that fauna and flora are main tourism attraction. Besides tourism has both positive and negative socio-economic and socio cultural impact on local community.income, job opportunity, experience , cultural exchange and infrastructural development were the main benefits of tourism according to the study. Based on the finding result, researcher able to draw a conclusion that tourism has impact on socio cultural and socio economic aspects of the local community. Finally, recommendation is forwarded for concerning bodies to take their own part in implementing the intervention. en_US
