An Assessment of Guidance and Counseling Service

Abstract

Guidance and counseling service delivered through professionals can help university and college students to adjust themselves with the existing environment .this study was conducted to assess guidance and counseling service delivered in jimma university main campus .descriptive research design was employed with stratified and purposive sampling technique .This study found that the office is organized under the student dean of office of student service. The office was not equipped with the necessary facility and it was also delivered by part time professional counselors and the office was not found in the appropriate place. This research recommends the responsible body, the office is to be effective and scientifically well organized guidance and counseling service as an important aspect of our educational system
