dc.description.abstract The major concern of this study is to assess the role of parenting on their children’s academic performance. Specifically with middle child hood cases. To pin- point, what should be the role and what kind of parenting style is important for their children academic performance. The research catch met area is Bahir Dar primary and secondary junior catholic school. In this research descriptive research design is used. To collect data from the sample representative the student researcher used simple random sampling and take 45 respondents or 15% of the student from 300 total population. The target groups was 7 and 8 grade students of Bahir Dar primary and secondary junior catholic school. In this research there are major findings which relate parental role and parenting style in middle child hood period children with their academic performance. From the major of findings the importance of middle child hood period can proved by this research. Most respondents respond they have an interest for their education. parenting style also has an effect on children’s academic performance and role of parents is an important ingredient for children’s academic performance en_US
