dc.description.abstract In this paper we introduce enhanced LEACH protocol based on low-power adaptive cluster hierarchy in order to make the network energy consumption efficient and extend the life time of nodes in the network. We use the modified threshold function to select the cluster head node, by taking residual energy and node distance as a parameter. The center of gravity node is also presented to help cluster head to finish its transmission and increasing the service duration. In the multihop communication between clusters, in order to calculate the fitting factor of the next hop, we derived a new formula, which takes into account the angle, remaining energy, and distance. According to simulation data the total residual energy of the Enhanced LEACH protocol is decreased, while the network life time is increased en_US
