dc.description.abstract Building information modeling based Structural design management is an effective design management that managing of the structural design model, coordinating for testing design clashes, generating schedules, simulating the design and construction method. So, these provides a benefit to improve constructability, to ensure compliance with the specification, and satisfy cost and time constraints. However, the conventional way of design management has design irregularities and missing, lack of integration and visualization, design conflicts, change in design and poor estimation of the volume of work. Accordingly, this study objectives were focused on evaluating the structural design management using Building information modeling in terms of information, time, cost, material, quality management. To achieve this research objectives an integrated design management system was employed using Building information modeling tools such as Revit, Navisworks, Synchro 4D, Etabs, Auto cad, and Microsoft project software and also Naviate rebar extension, Sofistik reinforcement, Graitec, and Biderectional data transfer plugin for Revit utilized. Based on findings the evaluation of the structural design management using Building information modeling under 3D modeling, Clash detection, quantification and 4D construction simulation results shows were found to be valid for structural design management as a way to: Building information modeling based structural design management offers an integrated platform to improve design and provide a flow of information without breaks and capability of producing constantly updated information. This increases the speed of delivery for design and construction. In addition to this it can provides optimized solution on design error removal, cost, and time to produce a highly coordinated design that would help the construction team use the highly constructable design information and the more accurate model-based quantity extraction. Furthermore, it can generate, evaluate and modify the 4D construction simulation in a more precise way and to apply them in a higher quality. Thus, due to this advantage the effectiveness of information, time, cost, material and quality management of the project is significantly improved. en_US
