dc.description.abstract A Vehicular Ad-Hoc Network or VANET is a type of Mobile Ad-Hoc Network (MANET) that provides communication between vehicles and between vehicles and road-side unit (RSU) or road-side base stations. It also introduced challenges that comes with unique characteristics of VANETs like frequent node disconnection, high mobility of nodes, fast topology changes, and limited bandwidth as compared to MANET. The characteristics of VANETs is difficult to handle different problems of this network specifically when emergency events need solution, it is more challenging when compared with other general ad-hoc network scenario. With this unique characteristics a number of problems is introduced in VANETs message disseminations like channel overhead, message redundancy, and packet delay is the major one. So, to address this issues in case of safety message dissemination, probabilistic data structure called bloom filter used to manage the neighbor nodes for better message dissemination. Depending on the collected information about the neighbor nodes we designed the algorithm which integrates this bloom filter data structure and clustering for the purpose of safety message dissemination in VANETs. The methodology used for the study is problem identification using review of literature and related works and then modeling the conceptual model for message dissemination. And then existing dissemination scheme is identified. The new scheme is investigated based on the constraints identified over the highway scenarios. Different tools are used for this purpose are of network simulators and mobility generators such as NS2, OMNET++, SUMO and Veins. After implementing the designed algorithm we performed the simulation using the above listed tools and finally performance evaluation with related scheme is analyzed. From the comparison we identified the new scheme improved the number of informed nodes with the average of 7% of the performance of the number of informed nodes of VANETs comparatively with related schemes. en_US
