dc.description.abstract In today’s complex construction projects, resolving disputes has become an inevitable part of a project manager’s work. This includes a wide variety of activities ranging from selecting a dispute resolution process to participating in the resolution to creating an understanding of the various forms of dispute resolution processes that have been construction industry problems. For these reasons this study aimed to assess the dispute resolution management techniques of the local and international contractors on road projects in Ethiopia. Hence, this research work study determine the most widely used dispute resolution management techniques worldwide that can be used in conjunction with local and international contractors, identify the challenges that the foreign contractor has while seeking to apply the dispute resolution management methods of the local contractor and evaluate which dispute resolution management techniques are the most efficient, cost effective, and simple to implement on both the local and international contractor sides on road construction projects. Data was analyzed using statistical and content analysis, respectively. The researcher was use purposive sampling method to collect data. And qualitative methods based on content analysis of interview data of expertise from construction projects, as well as quantitative method on account of exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis of statistical data using Suitable descriptive statistical tools was utilized to analyze the data in (SPSS). The analysis showed that DRE is the most widely worldwide used dispute resolution management techniques which are used in conjunction with local and international contractors with a total agreement response Strongly Agree and Agree 62.6 % (43.8+18.8) %. the most widely worldwide used dispute resolution management technique that can be used in conjunction with local and international contractors, the challenges of the foreign contractors are summarized as legal and regulation of the country and dispute review expert is the most efficient, cost effective, and simple to implement on both as dispute resolution management technique. Towards resolving contracting parties’ disputes the researcher believes that further researcher shall be conducted research on the topic for the construction industries. en_US
