dc.description.abstract Contractors’ monthly performance is one of the fundamental qualification criteria in tenders,suchlowperformanceappearstobealimitingfactorforcontractorstoparticipate in bids. Several performance problems and target deviations of construction projects are observedin theroad constructionsector.Properlymeasuring performanceby integrating the necessary measures and methods can aid in identifying performance problems and taking corrective action. However, numerous government reports have criticized the industry's poor performance, especially productivity, quality, and quality systems. The general objective of this research is to assess theContractor's performance in the Roads constructioninJimmazone.Thepreliminarydataforthisresearchwerecollectedthrough the use of aquestionnaire survey targeted at some contractors, clients, and consultantsin Road Construction projects. Data was analyzed through descriptive statistics. Thefindings of theresearch revealedthat the Application of Health and SafetyFactors in the Organization is the most significant factor related to contractors. Delay in Material Deliveryisthesecondmostcriticalmaterial-relatedissue.Shortageofequipmentisranked asthethirdmostcriticalissuerelatedtoequipment.Timelyprogresspaymentsarecritical for maintaining cash flow and ensuring the project proceeds without financial interruptions. In road construction, timely approvals of materials, designs, and work methodologiesareessentialtokeeptheprojectonschedule.Exogenousfactors,whichare external influences beyond the control of the project management team, can significantly impact road construction projects. In conclusion, addressing factors contributing to inefficient contractors’ performance requires comprehensive planning, effective supply chain management, and strategic partnerships with reliable suppliers. By implementing proactive measures such as robust logistics planning, bulk purchasing, inventory management, and clear communication channels, construction firms can mitigate the risks associated with material supply and ensure smoother project execution. en_US
