dc.description.abstract Salmonellosis is the major food-borne disease in the world with a serious public health problem. A cross-sectionals study was conducted from March 2023 to April, 2024 to determine the prevalence, antimicrobial susceptibility pattern and associated risk factors of Salmonella isolated from fresh raw chicken eggs collected at Konta-Ameya poultry farms and open local markets in southwest Ethiopia. The samples were examined by using culture technique and were confirmed by biochemical test. From the total of 384 eggs examined for Salmonella, 34(8.85%) were positive, of which 26 (6.77%) and 8 (2.08%) were isolated from eggshells and egg contents, respectively.
