Abstract:
The primary purpose of this research was to examine determinates of employee turnover
intention in case of Jimma town water supply and sanitation office. This study specifically
aimed to address assessing effect of internal or pushing factors, external or puling factors,
personal factors that affect employee turnover intention in this case area. A Cross- a sectional
explanatory research design and mix approach which is both qualitative and quantitative
research approach was employed. In addition, the researcher determines 110 respondents by
using online sample size determination Simple random sampling was used to select the
representative samples. The research data was collected from the respondent through
questionaries’ and interview method and analyzed through both descriptive and inferential
statistic methods of data analysis. Reliability test, response rate test and regression diagnosis
test were made before preceding the analysis According to the study finding stats that all
variables, internal pushing factor, external pulling factors and personal factors were
significantly influencing employee turnover intention. Finally, the researcher recommended to
the institution to apply employee turnover retention mechanisms such as balance workloads,
established advancement opportunity, build employee engagement and create good work
environment in order to reduce turnover intentions of employees
