Abstract:
This study, titled "Investigation of Public Construction Project Challenges in Sebeta
Town," To clarify how they are dealt with. The critical problems are the inability to
complete the projects on schedule, low quality work, and cost overruns. The study's
objectives were to investigate various challenges in Sebeta Town's public construction
projects.
The questionnaire was prepared for this reason because, in order to achieve its goal, it
depends on the literature review. A total of 126 questionnaires were distributed, with 78
returned from clients, consultants, and contractors. The data and questionnaire were
analyzed using Excel and the SPSS V-26 application. The Relative Importance Index was
calculated to determine whether or not the parties agreed on the factors and ranked them
according to their importance. The findings show a correlation between contractor and
client (96.9%), client and consultant (90.9%), and contractor and consultant (96.6%)
exposure to different challenges of public construction projects in Sebeta Town.
The alternative solution, for the town administration made coordination between
institutional utilities requires: It would assist institutions in making the most use of their
annual budget at the urban level, to satisfy the community's needs and keep future
sustainable construction projects in the town.
This research will help define the future of this industry and give recommendations for
improving the effectiveness and responsiveness of construction project management. By
minimizing the different challenges and maximizing possibilities and resources, it will also
provide useful background information on what the interested parties should know before
getting involved with public construction projects.
