Abstract:
Genetic improvement of indigenous dairy cattle through crossbreeding is a crucial way to
increase productivity, as it exploits both additive and non-additive genetic effect. This
study was designed to evaluate non-genetic and crossbreeding parameters on the
performance of Borana and Borana-Frisian crossbred dairy cattle at Holetta Agricultural
research center. Retrospective type of data was used to evaluate productive and
reproductive traits and laboratory based investigation was done to evaluate milk
composition
