Abstract:
This paper examines that Anywaa oral songs could play towards National Integration and
Development. Their contents usually call for nationalism, patriotism, dedication,
hardworking and self-reliance. They also emphasize the significance of the above virtues to
national integration and development. The data that was used in this research through
interview and video record. Oral Songs in Anywaa have been part of the life of the society. It
has long been common for Anywaa to play Oral Songs in working, wedding and funeral
occasions. The study has four chapters. In the first chapter, it has been attempted to show the
magnitude of Introduction, Statement of the study, Objective, and Questioners of the study. In
the second chapter, an endeavor has been made to give Review of Related to Literature. In
the third chapter an attempt has been made to take Data from within Anywaa society, and
analysis. The research questions mainly focus on Anywaa oral song that praise king, songs of
marriage, Nation integration and Nation development. Note was taken during the interview
process, as well as the opportunity of audio and video recordings, In the chapter Four, an
endeavor has been made to give detailed to thematic analysis of Anywaa Oral Songs. Taking
sufficient sample Songs, the researcher has made an attempt to discuss analysis issues in four
genres: Historical songs, marriage, Nation integration and Nation development. At last,
conclusions are drawn about the major themes discussed in the analysis. Songs which are
included in the analysis are made part of the appendix in order to preserve them for other
interested researchers in the area.
