The study was carried out with the investigation of EFL teachers’ awareness and practices of
vocabulary teaching strategies at Dedo Secondary School, Warokolobo Secondary School, and
Methoso Secondary School.in grade 10 in EFL class. To attain this objective, mixed (qualitative
and quantitative) research method was employed .To gather necessary data,30 EFL teachers
,who have been teaching in grade 10 , were selected as participants. To select data, purposive
sampling was used. The data were collected through interviews, questionnaires, and classroom
observation. Then, the data gathered through these tools were organized and analyzed using
both qualitative and quantitative methods. In order to create a holistic picture of these
qualitative and quantitative data, thus the researcher integrated and carefully discussed them all
around subsequent thematic topics of study in relation to the research questions. The study
identified that the EFL teachers relayed on limited strategies of vocabulary teaching for the
actual class room practice. As a result, vocabulary teaching strategies were found to be less
practiced by EFL teachers Therefore, based on the results and discussions of the findings of the
study, it is possible to conclude that EFL teachers of the selected secondary schools did not
properly practice different vocabulary teaching strategies in EFL class.to enable students
communicate effectively. |
