Abstract:
The Practice of Principals’ Leadership focuses on Secondary Schools of Yem Special
WoredaThe purpose of this study was to examine the practices of Principals’ Leadership in
secondary schools ofYem Special woreda. The study employed descriptive survey design and was
conducted in six secondary schools. To collect the relevant data questionnaire, interview and
document analysis were used during the study. Data was gathered from 48(30%) teachers,
6(100%) school principals, 2(100%) vice principals, 2(100%) supervisors and 6(31%) Yem
Special Woreda education office workers and a total of 64 (33%) respondents were analyzing by
using five rating scales and mean .The data obtained through questionnaires were analyzed
using statistical tool such as mean. On the basis of this finding principals are less effective in
their leadership due to lack of experience and qualification in the profession. Finally, based on
the findings and conclusions, recommendations were made on capacity building and
empowering of principals to do their work effectively, in turn, encouraging the practice of
principals’ Leadership.Furthermore, Yem Special Woreda Education Bureau is responsible to
give directives and guidelines in the case that whenever shortcomings and gaps are observed
and the schools should organized public relations to create school-community links
