dc.description.abstract Mastitis is a multi-etiological and complex disease, which is inflammation of the parenchyma of mammary glands mostly by pathogenic microbes, with both local and systemic manifestations. A cross-sectional study was conducted from March 2024 to October 2024 in Limu Seka Woreda of Jimma zone to isolate and identify Staphylococcus aureus from milk samples and assess its antimicrobial resistance pattern and identify risk factors associated with mastitis. A total of 216 Dairy cows milk samples were collected with proportional sampling techniques. The overall prevalence of mastitis at cow level was 118/216(54.62%) with 38.29 % and 59.17 % of clinical and subclinical mastitis prevalence, respectively. From a total of 864 quarters, examinations of udder, milk and by CMT test, 13.82 % (26/188) and 25.44% (172/676) were affected by clinical and sub clinical mastitis, respectively. In this study, the subclinical mastitis was higher than clinical mastitis en_US
