Abstract:
Intercropping oat (Avena sativa) with different vetch species offers a promising strategy for
sustainable and productive forage production. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of
intercropping oat with different vetch species on yield, agronomic performance, chemical
composition, and invitro gas production characteristics of forage. Field experiments were conducted
during the main cropping season at two locations (Jimma and Shabe) in the Jimma Zone of Ethiopia,
using a Randomized Complete Block Design with three replications. Data collection included
agronomic performance, dry matter yield (DMY), chemical composition (crude protein, NDF, ADF),
