dc.description.abstract The main purpose of this study was to investigate EFL teachers‟ awareness, implementation, and challenges of using techniques for teaching vocabulary while teaching English at the four secondary schools of Limmu Seka Woreda. To achieve this objective, descriptive research design was employed, and mixed research methods, which include both qualitative and quantitative research methods, were used. The participants of the study were all the 46 English language teachers who are teaching in the schools. Comprehensive sampling technique was used to select the target population of the study. Questionnaire, interview, and classroom observation were used to collect data for the study. Classroom observations were made ahead of conducting the interview and distributing the questionnaire to prevent data contamination. The findings of the study revealed that the aggregate value of the teachers‟ awareness and implementation of vocabulary teaching techniques are moderate. For the challenges, teacher related and school related are moderate but students related are high. en_US
